Conference tourney schedule
West Lincoln will host Lincolnton at 8 p.m. North Lincoln will host Highland Tech at 4:30 p.m. East Lincoln will visit South Point.
The Rebels, Wolves and Mustangs all have to win their conference tournaments to gain entry into the state playoffs.
North Lincoln has already qualified by finishing second in the Southern Foothills. East Lincoln looked to be a lock for the 3A State Playoffs, until they lost star shortstop/pitcher Greyson Schram to a cracked vertabrae.
EL Optimist sign-ups
The East Lincoln Optimists will hold early sign-ups for football and cheerleading on the following dates: May 14 from 9-noon and May 17 and 19 from 6-8 p.m.
Boys (football) and girls (cheerleading) ages 7 to 12 are eligible to participate.
Football cost is $65. Cost during the July sign-ups will be $75. Cheerleading registration is $25. Sign-ups will be held at the clubhouse on Optimist Club road.
The East Lincoln Optimist Club will also host sign-ups for 15 and 16 year olds Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon for baseball.

Registration is underway for the 30-plus menâ€™s league and open summer hoops. It will last until May 13th and the cost per team is $285 with a $100 dollar non-refundable deposit.
The league will be open to the first 10 teams to register.
The Lincolnton/Lincoln County Parks and Recreation is offering a lifeguard training class beginning Monday, May 9th at 6 p.m. at the W.M. Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park.
The cost of the course is $130, which includes: training, books, pocket mask, certification cards and use of equipment. The course will last through May 26th.

The Lincolnton/Lincoln County Parks and Recreation Department is offering a racquetball clinic May 16th-19th at the W.M. Lentz Recreation Center.
The clinic is for men and women ages 15 and up who are interested in learning the rules and play of racquetball.
No experience is necessary and needed equipment will be provided. The cost of the clinic is $25.

Captainâ€™s choice golf tournament
The Carolina Cyclones will host a captainâ€™s choice golf tournament May 28th at Lincoln Country Club.
Cost is $50 per person or $200 per team. To register call 704-477-4357 or 704-472-8822. The deadline for registration is May 26th.
Camp of Champions Basketball Camp
Dr. Andy Royals, senior pastor of Salem Baptist Church, will be directing the camp in July.
All Lincolnton area boys and girls third-sixth grade are encouraged to attend.
The boys camp will be held July 11-15, while the girls camp will run July 18-22. The location will be the New Life Baptist Church Family Life Center.
The cost for the camp is $75, which includes a t-shirt and certificate. The times will be 8 a.m.-noon, Monday through Friday.
