The East Lincoln Community Garden Club will hold a meeting at 10 a.m on Monday, May 9 in the fellowship hall of Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church. The program will be a plant swap by members, followed by a picnic lunch. Membership is open to area residents and annual dues are $15. Holy Spirit Catholic Church will hold its 3rd annual Community Fest from 7:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. The church is located at 537 N. N.C. 16. There will be several different vendors displaying their items for sale plus a large yard sale. There will be a children’s moon walk, electric basketball shoot, pony rides, bake sale and nascar collectibles. Rain date is Saturday, May 14.

Westport Garden Club will hold their final meeting of the year today at the Florence Soule Shanklin Library, 7837 Fairfield Forest Road. Co-hostesses will be Connie Andrews, Dottie Ayers and Claire Tracy. The program will include business, year end reports and discussion of the library memorial garden workday. Bring non-perishable food items for the East Lincoln Christian Ministry food pantry. Membership is open to women living in the Westport Community, $5 annually. For information contact R. Westport Baptist Church Women’s Ministry, designed to help with relationships in a troubling time, meets 6:30 p.m. every Thursday starting in August at Westport Baptist Church, 2372 Lakeshore Road South. Lake Norman Flotilla 17-8 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary holds its monthly meeting the first Saturday of each month (no meeting in July or December). The meeting is held at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church on Perth Road, which is north of Highway 150.

Cornelius Parks and Recreation offers Jazzercise year-round from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. on Monday & Wednesday; and 8:15 – 9 a.m. and 9:15 -10 a.m. on Saturday.
This dance exercise class offers a blend of jazz dance and exercise science set to a variety of music — top 40, jazz, country and classics.
