YMCA baseball and hoops
The Adrian Shuford Jr. YMCA is currently taking registration for youth T-ball and baseball.
The following age groups and programs will be offered: T-ball (ages 3 & 4), Coed coaches’ pitch (ages 5 & 6), Rookie League (ages 7-9), Jr. League (ages 10-12), girls softball (ages 10-12).

T-ball will cost $35 for members and $50 for non-members. Kids ages 5 and up the cost is $40 for members and $60 for non-members.
Registration is also underway for 30-plus men’s league and open summer hoops. It will last until May 13th and the cost per team is $285 with a $100 dollar non-refundable deposit.
The league will be open to the first 10 teams to register.

Softball tournament
Hooters of Gastonia/Mizuno Sports/S.S.0 is having a first-round qualifying softball tournament Saturday at Ferguson Park in Gastonia.
The entry fee is $130. This will be the first of three qualifying tournaments to gain entry into the Super Tournament at the end of the season.

Post 455 baseball
Denver American Legion Post 455 will have baseball sign-ups Sunday April 24th at the Denver Fire Department from 5-5:45 p.m. and at the Boger City Fire Department from 6:15-7 p.m.

Lifeguard training
The Lincolnton/Lincoln County Parks and Recreation is offering a lifeguard training class beginning Monday, May 9th at 6 p.m. at the W.M. Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park.
The cost of the course is $130, which includes: training, books, pocket mask, certification cards and use of equipment. The course will last through May 26th.

Tin Cup Classic
The Second Annual Tin Cup Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 23 at the Pine Grove Golf Club in Shelby, N.C.
The tournament will be captains choice format with four-man teams.
There will be a $200 entry fee per team with lunch and refreshments included. First place awards include $400 and prizes, second place: $200 and prizes and third place $100 and prizes.

EL Golf Tourney
The East Lincoln Sports Boosters will hold a golf tournament on April 25, 2005 to benefit East Lincoln High School’s athletic facilities. The tournament will be held at the beautiful Cowan’s Ford Country Club, with a 12:30 shotgun start. It will be a four-person captain’s choice, limited to 36 teams. Many different sponsorships will be available for corporations including players’ packages and recognition around the course. Entry forms are available at the school and at Cowan’s Ford C.C. This is a unique opportunity to play a great course and help East Lincoln High School.

Captain’s choice golf tournament
The Carolina Cyclones will host a captain’s choice golf tournament May 28th at Lincoln Country Club.
Cost is $50 per person or $200 per team. To register call 704-477-4357 or 704-472-8822. The deadline for registration is May 26th.

Camp of Champions Basketball Camp
Dr. Andy Royals, senior pastor of Salem Baptist Church, will be directing the camp in July.
All Lincolnton area boys and girls third-sixth grade are encouraged to attend.
The boys camp will be held July 11-15, while the girls camp will run July 18-22. The location will be the New Life Baptist Church Family Life Center.
The cost for the camp is $75, which includes a t-shirt and certificate. The times will be 8 a.m.-noon, Monday through Friday.
