Nursing specialty shop opens

One stop shopping for nurses is now available in Lincolnton.
Scrubbin’ Up Nursing Uniforms and Accessories has been open since December, offering everything from uniforms to shoes and stethoscopes.
“I tried hard to think of something that Lincolnton does not have,” said owner Heather Lineberger. “My best friend is in nursing school and she told me how hard it is for her to find stuff and that is where I came up with the idea.”
Tops for uniforms range from $14.99 to $23.99 and bottoms range from $17.99 to $23.50. The uniforms are offered in brands such as Peaches, Dickies and Cherokee.
Shoes range from $32.50 to $55.
Lineberger, who has been a stay at home mom for several years, is happy that she took the chance to open her own business.
“I have met so many people in the medical community and I have learned a lot,” she said. “I am getting a lot of comments and feedback about what to carry and I try to listen to what people want.”
The store name occurred to her while thinking about what doctors do, Lineberger said.
“Doctor’s scrub up, I really liked the name and that is why it stuck,” she said.
The store is located at 112 C Newbold Street.
Hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A 20 percent discount is offered for groups of five who come and shop. A 10 percent discount card is also given with one’s first purchase.
