Relay for Life is just two weekends away but the list of events has already started.
Â· April 1 â€“ Fish/Chicken Fry at Salem United Methodist Church for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drive thru pick-up for $7.50
Â· April 1 and 2 â€“ Spaghetti Dinner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 537 N. N.C. 16, all you can eat from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., both nights. Adults are $7, kids 4 to 12 are $3.
Â· April 2 â€“ Spaghetti dinner and womanless beauty pageant at Webbs Chapel UMC. Dinner will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The pageant will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Â· April 2 â€“ Hunt for a Cure, a scavenger hunt sponsored by East Lincoln Charter School. The event will be held at 10:45 a.m. at Denver Baptist Church
Â· April 4 â€“ Survivorsâ€™ Dinner at Salem UMC for cancer survivors and a guest at 6 p.m.
Â· April 8 and 9 â€“ Relay for Life at East Lincoln High School. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:30 p.m.
Â· April 9 â€“ Car Wash at Catawba Springs Elementary School at 10 a.m. to noon
Â· April 23 â€“ Golf tournament at Lincolnton Country Club hosted by Pearl Baptist Church
All events raise money for the American Cancer Society.
The Relay is the signature fund-raising event for the ACS.
The Relay for Life events will kick-off on April 8 at 6 p.m. with entertainment. At 7 p.m. the survivors lap will occur and the lighting of the luminaries will be at 9:15 p.m.
On April 9 there will be food, games, entertainment and walking until noon.
â€œWe want people to come out and have a good time,â€ said Patsy Black, who heads up east Lincoln Relay for Life.
