Denver consignment store has mix of goods

Stylish clothing is available in Denver for a much lower price than new clothing.
Glad Rags Consignment offers adult, teen, children and men’s clothing.
It also has many accessories available such as bedding, shoes, pocket books, belts and toys for children. Wholesale jewelry sold new is also available
The store has been open three months and is off to a good start.
“It’s been fun,” said owner Sharon McDonald. “I am having a blast.”
Much of the clothing that McDonald accepts is top of the line. Some of the brand names include Liz Claiborne, Liz Sport, the Limited, Gap, Old Navy, Tommy Hilfiger, LEI and American Eagle. All clothing is arranged by size and sometimes color.
“People really like that,” McDonald said.
She said items that are delivered must be clean and ready for display.
“I am very particular about what I take,” McDonald said.
Only 30 items can be taken at a time. After 60 days, items are offered 20 percent off. Merchandise is displayed for 90 days or until sold. At 90 days one may pick up the merchandise if it has not been sold. Otherwise, Glad Rags can donate to charities such as Amy’s House or East Lincoln Christian Ministries.
Plans for the business include a possible expansion to carry furniture.
A formal bridal consultant is also available for fittings.
The consultant can do next day mailings. She can also order new items.
Currently, Glad Rags has over 600 consignors.
The hours of the business are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday. The store may stay open later on Saturday if there is a demand.
The store is located at 1249 N. Hwy. 16. For more information call 704-483-0168.
