Radio station changes tune

CHERRYVILLE – WCSL 1590 AM in Cherryville has announced that their music and programming format will change from adult contemporary to contemporary Christian.
Currently, WSCL simulcasts with WLON Lincolnton to provide Cherryville with news, weather and local sports as well as music from the ’70s and ’80s. The new format will include news, weather, high school sports and Christian music and programming. The change allows WCSL Cherryville to differentiate itself from sister stations.
“The new format will allow WCSL to establish its own identity as another type of family oriented station,” said General Manager Lanny Ford.
