Church to beautify the body and spirit

Denver Baptist Church is offering the “Ultimate Makeover” to women in the area on April 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The church, which holds two events a year in the fall and spring, has never held a full day event.
“It was something that we decided to do,” said Cindy Ingle, women’s ministry coordinator for the church. “It was also in response to input from the ladies on what they would like us to do.”
The day will feature three speakers, Penny Anderson of Charlotte who will discuss fitness and nutrition, Shari Braendel of Charlotte who will discuss tips on beauty, fashion, make-up, skincare and hair and Rhonda Gillespie of South Carolina who will focus on the spiritual aspect. Heather Gordon, a member of Denver Baptist Church, will provide the music.
Four people will also receive complete makeovers in which they will visit Casual Corner to receive a new outfit. They will also get their hair and makeup done.
“We felt the most important makeover is the spiritual aspect,” Ingle said.
That is why the church decided for the “ultimate makeover.”
“The physical makeover is not getting to the basic part that is most important and that is the spiritual,” Ingle said. “You need to make that over and then focus on the other parts.”
The event is open to all in the community. There is a maximum of 600 people that can fit in the Worship Center.
The cost is $20, which covers breakfast, lunch, snacks and speakers.
“So far the response has been really good,” Ingle said. “The ladies at the church are very enthusiastic.”
Registration is open now until April 3. For more information call Denver Baptist Church at 704-483-3030 or Ingle at 704-735-3292.
There will be a giveaway to Casual Corner and door prizes available.
