Delorise Ellsworth of Iron Station has made almost 100 quilts. The hobby that she has had for ten years made her want to share her fun with others in the community.
“The Quilter’s Haven†in Denver is now open, offering quilting supplies, fabric and even classes.
“There is just nothing like this in this area, so I decided to open my own place. I like quilting so much,†Ellsworth said.
Her store, located on the corner of Mundy Road and N.C. 16, has several quilts for sale, quilt batting and books.
“Everyone who comes in the store is so glad to have one in the area,†she said. “They are all excited and we are happy.â€
Classes will start at the end of the month or early March. There will be an eight week session, once a week for beginners. Classes will be offered for children and adults.
Longarm quilting services are also available from Christine Scholz who can customize a quilt.
“She does beautiful work at good prices,†Ellsworth said.
Each month the store will offer a new quilt pattern. There are also many catalogues available in order for customers to find their ideal pattern.
The store is located at 4321 N.C. 16. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. For more information call 704-483-5999.
