PROBUS CLUB MTG
John Wendel, meteorologist at WCNC-TV, will speak to the Probus Club of Lake Norman on February 15 at Lake Norman Lutheran Church located on N.C. 16. Social hour will begin at 10 a.m., the program will start at 10:30 a.m. He will discuss predicting the weather, weather patterns here and in the U.S., tsunamis and other weather-related catastrophes.

LINCOLN COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN
The Lincoln County Democratic Women will meet on Feb. 22 at the parish hall at St. Peter by the Lake at 7 p.m.

EL COMMUNITY GARDEN CLUB
The East Lincoln Community Garden club will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Webbs Chapel Church, Denver. The program will be presented by Marta Carlson, of Paradise Gardens. Membership is open to area residents and annual dues are $15. 2ND FRIDAY WAYNE’S SENIOR FEAST
The February feast will be held at Capt’n Pete’s Restaurant on the 11th at 10 a.m. Cost is $6. Reservations must be made by Sunday, Feb. 6. The guest speaker is Dr. Vesna Tomovich, M.D. with Shoreline Family Medicine in Denver.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP
Christian Women’s Fellowship will be held Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. at Westport Baptist Church. Joellen Potts with Hickory Grove Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. ART AUCTION
The Fall in Love with Art and More Auction sponsored by the Denver/Lake Norman Rotary will take place Feb. 17 at Triangle Industrial Park, 7911 Commerce Drive. The preview and social will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the auction will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 per person, $15 a couple and $10 per person at the door. CHARITY BASS TOURNAMENT
The 2005 American Cancer Society-Jim Ledbetter Memorial Team Bass Tournament will be on March 12. All competitors will receive tournament patches. The tournament will go out of Queen’s Landing on Lake Norman. For more information contact Bob Patrick, Volunteer Committee Chairman, 828-459-1119.

RELAY FOR LIFE MEETING
A Team Captains meeting for Relay for Life will be held on Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Westport Baptist Church, Denver.

LAKE NORMAN COIN SHOW
The Lake Norman Coin Show will take place on Saturday, March 19 at the National Guard Armory, N.C. 115 South, Mooresville. Buy, sell or trade coins. Free appraisals. There will also be currency and jewelry. The event is sponsored by the Lake Norman Coin Club.

WESTPORT GARDEN CLUB
The Westport Garden Club will hold their 10 a.m. meeting at the home of Anne Michael, 8106 Blades Trail on March 2. Co-hostesses will be Karen Bolick, Billie Lawson, and Marty Wulfhorst. The program will be planting a hummingbird/butterfly garden. The speaker will be Marta Carlson from Paradise Garden Nursery. FUNDRAISER
Ladies Workout Express in Denver is hosting an event with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Feb. 21 to 26 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, Friday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. All proceeds will go to St. Jude’s. The program called, “Fit for Life,” will allow people to come in to give a one time donation or one may pick up a sponsor packet at the gym. The general public is invited to attend the event.
