DENVER FIRE DEPT. ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Denver Fire Department Board of Directors will be held Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Denver fire station located at 3956 Hwy 16 north in Denver (Beside Denver Methodist Church). All residents and property owners of the Denver Fire District are welcome to attend. Topics will include fiscal year 2003-04, incident statistics, election of a board member and presentation of a by-law revision. GIRL SCOUTS CAROLING
The Girl Scouts of the Denver area will be singing Christmas carols on Saturday Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in front of the Harris Teeter at N.C. 73 and N.C. 16. 2ND FRIDAY WAYNEâ€™S SENIOR FEAST
The December feast will be held at Captâ€™n Peteâ€™s Restaurant 10 a.m. on Dec. 10. The cost is $6. Reservations are required by Sunday Dec. 5. Representatives from Mission Medical Supply will speak on their services and Larry Clanton will provide musical entertainment. The East Lincoln Betterment Association will have their annual meeting on Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The location has not been determined yet. The meeting will announce ELBAâ€™s new President, Treasurer and four new board members.
The Lake Norman Orchestra and Choir will perform their annual holiday concert on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. Also performing will be the NormanAirs Jazz Ensemble and the Carolina Classic Barbershop Chorus. Lake Norman Seventh Day Adventist Church is currently meeting at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Cornelius on N.C. 115. Lake Norman Flotilla 17-8 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary holds its monthly meeting on the first Saturday of each month (no meeting in July or December). The meeting is held at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, located on Perth Road, North of Highway 150.

Western Square Dance Lessons are also offered by Cornelius Parks and Recreation, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., on Thursdays, January through April.
This class offers basic knowledge of western square dancing, which features four couples in each square dancing to music ranging from country-western to beach music and popular hits. Dance instruction is given by members of the Cornelius Cutups Square Cutups Square Dance Club.

This dance exercise class offers a blend of jazz dance and exercise science set to a variety of music â€” top 40, jazz, country and classics.
