The pied piper of the pipe organ is coming to Lincolnton promising both music and laughs.
“He just has a very clever and fast paced presentation on how (the pipe organ) works and a very sparkling manner of playing,†said Daniel Hannemann, music minister at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Cj Sambach, an organist, makes his living traveling across the country performing “The Pipe Organ Informance.â€
Lincoln County students will be bussed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Friday Nov. 19 to hear his lively presentation. Performance times are 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
In his programs, Cj will explore the organ’s tonal resources, present musical compositions and share “fascinating facts.â€
“This guy is able to make it fun and entertaining, educational and inspirational all at the same time,†said Hannemann. “He’s become known as the pied piper of the pipe organ.â€
On Nov. 21, Sambach will perform at 9:45 a.m. during the church’s Sunday School Hour. A more formal performance will take place later that afternoon at 3 p.m.
“Even that is more fun than your average organ recital,†said Hannemann. “He’s just a humorous, lighthearted person.â€
Everyone over eight-years-old is invited to attend the performance. The church is located on 216 S. Aspen St.
Sambach is a resident of Brick, New Jersey and an Organ Performance graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. by Sarah Grano
