Pipe organist to give smoking show

The pied piper of the pipe organ is coming to Lincolnton promising both music and laughs.
“He just has a very clever and fast paced presentation on how (the pipe organ) works and a very sparkling manner of playing,” said Daniel Hannemann, music minister at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Cj Sambach, an organist, makes his living traveling across the country performing “The Pipe Organ Informance.”
Lincoln County students will be bussed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Friday Nov. 19 to hear his lively presentation. Performance times are 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
In his programs, Cj will explore the organ’s tonal resources, present musical compositions and share “fascinating facts.”
“This guy is able to make it fun and entertaining, educational and inspirational all at the same time,” said Hannemann. “He’s become known as the pied piper of the pipe organ.”
On Nov. 21, Sambach will perform at 9:45 a.m. during the church’s Sunday School Hour. A more formal performance will take place later that afternoon at 3 p.m.
“Even that is more fun than your average organ recital,” said Hannemann. “He’s just a humorous, lighthearted person.”
Everyone over eight-years-old is invited to attend the performance. The church is located on 216 S. Aspen St.
Sambach is a resident of Brick, New Jersey and an Organ Performance graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. by Sarah Grano
