The Lincolnton High School Wolf Pack Marching Band traveled to Yadkinville and brought home trophies for 2nd place Overall Band in Class AA at the Forbush Festival of Marching Bands.
The Wolves won 2nd place Guard and finished 2nd place in both Marching and General Effect. They will be completing their competitive season this Saturday at the Carolina Classic at East Lincoln High School.
The North Lincoln High School â€œBand of Knightsâ€ was on their scheduled break for the competitive season this past weekend. Their 2004 field show â€œMaxâ€™s Band Adventureâ€ tells their story of the little boy, Max, and the mischief he creates. Under the direction of Neil. Underwood, the band will complete their competitive season this coming weekend by performing this show at the Carolina Classic held at East Lincoln High School.
The East Lincoln High School Mustang Band, the â€œShowband of the Carolinas,â€ finished up their competitive season this weekend in Cary at the 46th Annual Cary Band Day. The band brought home 2nd Place in Class AAA with a â€œSuperior â€œrating, one of only three given in the 24 bands that competed in classes A, AA, AAA. The band received the caption trophies for 2nd Place Marching, 3rd Place Music, 3rd Place General Effect and 3rd Place Drumline. The band received the trophy for 2nd Place all day out of 22 other bands in class A-AAA.
This weekend the ELHS Marching Band will be hosting the 14th Annual â€œCarolina Classicâ€ Showcase of Bands.
The East Lincoln Middle School 8th Grand Bands will be performing the National Anthem at 5:30 p.m., with the first band in competition performing at 5: 45 p.m. All of the other Lincoln County bands will be participating in the Classic this tear and will be performing at the following times: West Lincoln- 6 p.m., Lincolnton- 7:15 p.m., and North Lincoln- 8: 45 p.m. The ELHS â€œShowband of the Carolinasâ€ will be performing, in exhibition, their final showing of â€œSPHERESâ€ at 9 p.m.
