The Lincolnton Lady Wolves victory over East Rutherford on Thursday allowed them to three-peat as Midwest 2A Conference champions.
No. 1 seed Shawn Kindley beat Sarah Horne 6-1, 6-0. Liz Rhine, at No. 2, won 6-1, 6-0 over Amanda Carter. Jessica Newton beat Chelsey Gettys 6-0, 6-1.
No. 4 seed Anna Carpenter defeated Kelley Brackett 6-0, 6-1. Shelley Stevens beat Lacey Beane 6-1, 6-0. Mary Heather Lineberger, playing at No. 6, gave the Wolves a singlesâ€™ sweep beating Jamie Watts 6-1, 7-5.
In doubles, Graham/Stevens beat Horne/Carter 8-4. Carpenter/Anna Kiser defeated Brackett/Watts 8-2. To finish the match sweep Betty Royster/Sheldon McCurry beat Robertson/Davis 10-5.
Wolvesâ€™ head coach Chris Hoffman was pleased with his teamâ€™s accomplishment.
â€œI could not be any more proud of their accomplishments. They have worked very hard and deserve a lot of credit. Weâ€™ll enjoy this for a few days and then begin preparing for the playoff portion of our season,â€ he said.
