Nina Smith of RHA Health Services has recently been named Gastonia Employee of the Year. RHA, which provides community-based supports and services to people that have developmental disabilities and is located in several states, chose Smith as one of 14 employees of the year out of 1900 employees.
Smith, who has been with RHA for just over two years, was selected for her “commitment to quality services and for her dedication to care” for individuals in the Southwest unit.

Avon Representative Betty Lovelace of Iron Station, among the top ten percent of representatives nationwide, was honored recently in a five-day celebration at the 2004 President’s Recognition Program in San Francisco. Lovelace was placed on a list of Avon’s Top Achievers for 2003-2004. Lovelace received a crystal trophy and world-class accommodations to mark her achievements in sales volume, sales increase, recruiting and leadership.

Carolina Trust Bank, headquartered in Lincolnton, will distribute a five percent stock dividend payable to its shareholders Oct. 15.
The bank will also be opening a fourth full service branch in Denver at 1293 North Hwy. 16 in the Triangle community.
Carolina Trust Bank operates four full services branches and has assets totaling $73 million as of August 2004. It is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
