Lincoln County now has another lunch alternative.
Expanded hours and a lunch menu at Tradewinds have just started last week.
“For the two years that we have been here there has always been a request to be open for lunch,†said Matt Gibson, manager.
Gibson said they felt the need to open for lunch in order to compete with local businesses.
“Most people are open for lunch and dinner so we felt that we needed to be open too,†he said.
The lunch menu includes roughly 20 selections, with 50 percent being new items. Some of the options include a Cuban sandwich, the chicken ceasar wrap, buffalo chicken, philly steak or chicken, taco salad and the portobello mushroom sandwich.
There is also shrimp and chicken creole, shrimp scampi and quesadillas.
Hamburgers and cheeseburgers are also available.
“We went around and got ideas from the chef to set us apart in town,†he said.
Many of the lunch items come in a wicker basket with deli paper.
Lunch specials are also available which change daily and are not included on the menu.
Steve Gibson, owner said their goal is to make a good place for lunch.
“I see it geared more towards an environment for a business lunch,†he said. “We are trying to do some different stuff because people get tired of the same thing.â€
Tradewinds hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Lunch is served until 4:30 p.m. The restaurant also used to be closed on Tuesdays, but now is open seven days a week..
