Lake Norman Lutheran Church will have their third annual music festival, Saturday, Sept. 11 from noon to 8 p.m. All proceeds received from ads, concession and sales will benefit East Lincoln Christian Ministry. The event is free and open to the public.

The Wayne’s Senior Feast will meet on Aug. 13 at Capt’n Pete’s Restaurant on N.C. 150. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served. Cost is $6. A sing along with E.C. Salem United Methodist Church’s dinner theatre, “If the Good Lord’s Willing and the Creek Don’t Rise,” will have performances Aug. 28 & 29 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the Christian Life Center. Advance ticket purchases are required by Aug. 24. To obtain tickets call the church office at 704-483-5055 or Judy Gibson, 704-483-5055. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for 10 and under. All proceeds go towards the Christian Life Center. Salem UMC is located at 378 N. Pilot Knob Road.

Verdict Ridge Golf & Country Club will host the 4th annual ladies invitational golf tournament to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday, Aug. 30. Registration will be at 9 a.m. with a shot gun at 10 a.m. Cost for the day is $60 per player. Lunch will be complimentary. Mount Anderson Baptist Church will hold their 4th annual car show, Saturday, Sept. 11. Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Awards will be issued at 2 p.m. The cost is $15 to enter. All proceeds will go to the building fund for the church. Door prizes will be given out all day. The church is located at 4836 N.C. 16, Maiden, six miles out of Denver. Tucker’s Grove Camp meeting will take place Aug. 14 to Aug. 22 at Tucker’s Grove Campground located on N.C. 73. A singing will take place Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., with services taking place at 7:30 p.m. each evening. On the last Sunday there will be an 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. service.

Reenactors from the 30th N.C. Troops Living History Association will show how Confederate soldiers lived while on campaign. There will be drill and musket firing demonstrations, as well as talks about field cooking, uniforms and equipment. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, $4 for students and children 5 and under are free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 15. It will be held at the Historic Latta Plantation Civil War Encampment, 5225 Sample Road in the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, Huntersville.

Bass tournaments will be held every Friday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. starting April 23 through August 13 at Midway Marina. Registration starts at 5 p.m. For more information call 828-459- 1119.
