Stanley— Ray Dockery started from the pole to lead the entire 20 laps for his third consecutive Late Model win at East Lincoln Speedway, Saturday night.
According to track rules any driver that wins three features in a row must start at the rear of the field the next scheduled race.
“It will be exciting for the fans but a difficult challenge for me to come from the back but I’m confident I can pull it off especially considering how well we have this car dialed in for this track,†said Dockery after his win.
David Yandle finished second, David Lindsey third, Mike Walker fourth with Pete Miles rounding out the top five.
In Super Stock V-8 action Ronnie White started third, watched the lead change three times before moving out front to win the 15-lap chase.
Chris Smith won the Rookie 4 feature. Top honors in Stock 4 competition went to Dennis Kirk. Brian Roseman was the class of the Sprint field for the second straight week.
The night’s activities attracted 83 race cars.
“Finally we got a break from late afternoon thunderstorms which resulted in one of our best car counts of the year, as well as the largest spectator turnout since early May,†said track manager James Honeycut.
Stock car action returns to the 3/8-mile red clay oval next Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. An added attraction on the card will be the return of the Thunder and Lightning division.
