The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the armed robbery of a Crouse convenience store that occurred Friday night.
The robbery happened at Crouse Mini Mart, 2863 W. N.C. 150, according to a report from Lt. Ronnie Matthews, Detective Lester White and Detective Tim Johnson.
A clerk there told authorities that she had locked the door and gone to her vehicle at the gas pumps when a man armed with a gun jumped from behind the truck.
The man was wearing a ski mask, gloves and a bluish-gray long sleeve jumpsuit.
He took the clerk back inside and took money from the cash register, along with cigarettes.
He then took the clerk to her vehicle, got her purse and directed her around the back of the building, where he went through her purse.
He told her to walk around the building and then fled behind the business toward Saint Marks Church Road.
The Sheriff’s Office received K-9 tracking assistance from the Mount Holly Police Department.
There are no suspects at this time, and police are not saying whether the incident is related to another armed robbery that happened in Lincolnton Thursday.
Police received an armed robbery call at the Times Turnaround convenience store, 1830 N. Aspen St., about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
A man wearing a black mask and gloves and armed with a handgun approached a clerk while she was closing the store for the night.
He forced her inside and told her he would kill her, police said.
The man then took four cartons of cigarettes and put them in a trash bag he had brought. He forced the clerk behind the store and took money from her purse.
He was last seen running toward the Colonial Village apartment complex.
