Confused About Medicare approved prescription drug discount cards? Help is available.
If you live in Lincoln County and need assistance with choosing a Medicare approved prescription drug discount card, you can stop by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension office on Thursday, July 15. Local volunteers from the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), a division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance, will be available to answer your questions concerning the Medicare approved prescription drug discount cards. The counseling session is FREE and open to the public. The North Carolina Cooperative Extension office is located at 115 West Main Street in Lincolnton, NC.
SHIIP volunteers will be available from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. to provide one-on-one counseling to assist you with choosing a Medicare approved prescription drug discount card. They can also assist in determining your eligibility for a $600 credit towards your prescription drugs. Should you have questions regarding other Medicare-related insurance topics, SHIIP volunteers are prepared to assist you.
As a information division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance, SHIIP helps Medicare beneficiaries and their families with Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage, Medicare fraud and abuse and long-term care insurance questions. SHIIP provides education and assistance to Lincoln County residents by offering educational materials for consumer’s use and providing educational presentations to civic, community, church and other groups regarding Medicare and other senior insurance issues.
This program involves major changes for Medicare beneficiaries. Not only does it offer the opportunity for people to purchase a Medicare approved prescription drug discount card, but people with limited incomes have the opportunity for a $600 credit towards their prescription drug costs.
