LAKE NORMAN RAFT-UP
The 7th annual raft-up will be held on Lake Norman on Saturday, July 31. The event will be held at the T-5 marker from noon until 4 p.m. Proceeds from the raft-up will benefit the Navigational Aid program.
The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will help Duke Power celebrate its 100th anniversary with a Summer Pops concert Thursday, July 1, at the EnergyExplorium. The symphony will perform at 8:15 p.m. preceded by the Duke Energy Community choir at 7 p.m. Admission and parking is free. Food and drinks will be available at a nominal fee to benefit the East Lincoln High School band.
WAYNEâ€™S SENIOR FEAST
The July feast will be held at Captâ€™n Peteâ€™s Restaurant on July 9 at 10 a.m. The cost is $6 per person. Reservations and payment must be made by Sunday, July 4. The speaker will be Dr. Edward Miedema, Urologist with Lincoln Medical Center in Denver.
LIGHT UP THE LAKE PARADE
A patriotic Light Up the Lake Parade will be held Friday, July 2 at approximately 9:15 p.m. starting at Midtown Harborside. It will benefit the Lake Norman Marine Commissionâ€™s Navigation Aids Program which will help purchase nighttime navigation lights. Cost to enter is $50. The Denver Area Business Association will have their 4th annual Independence Day Fireworks celebration, Saturday, July 3 starting at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the East Lincoln High School stadium. Fireworks will begin at dark.

Lake Norman Flotilla 17-8 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary holds its monthly meeting on the first Saturday of each month (no meeting in July or December). The meeting is held at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, located on Perth Road, North of Highway 150.

Western Square Dance Lessons are also offered by Cornelius Parks and Recreation, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., on Thursdays, January through April.
This class offers basic knowledge of western square dancing, which features four couples in each square dancing to music ranging from country-western to beach music and popular hits. Dance instruction is given by members of the Cornelius Cutups Square Dance Club.

This dance exercise class offers a blend of jazz dance and exercise science set to a variety of music â€” top 40, jazz, country and classics.
