The Denver Area Business Association will be holding its 4th annual fireworks celebration Saturday.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with fireworks at dark. The event will be held at East Lincoln High School.
Starting at 5 p.m., D.J. Darin Henley of Maiden will be in charge of the music. At 6 p.m., local band Shu will take the stage until 7 p.m. They will also play again from 8 to 9 p.m.
For the children there will be bouncy rides, a magician from 5 to 7 p.m., clowns from 6 to 8 p.m. and Uncle Sam will make an appearance from 5 to 9 p.m.
Uncle Sam will be handing out prizes for the most patriotic attendees.
â€œMinnie Pearlâ€ will also be at the event from 5 to 9 p.m.
A raffle for a Weber grill will be held at 9 p.m. All the proceeds will help pay for this yearâ€™s fireworks. The grill is being donated by Turbyfill Hardware and is worth $600. Tickets are $1 each and will be sold up until the time of the raffle.
At approximately 9 p.m., Boy Scouts will raise the flag and Celina Rodriquez, an ELHS student, will perform the Star Spangled Banner. Prior to the fireworks, an invocation by Jeff Johnson of Denver Methodist Church will be given.
Vendors for the event include Curbside Grill, Expresso Plus, J&B Concessions, Westlake Restaurant, Bank of America, Captainâ€™s Cap Restaurant, Super Dogs, Cornerstone Church, Relay for Life and DABA.
Food will include hot dogs, hamburgers, fish, shrimp, french fries, pizza, funnel cakes, nachos, snow cones and smoothies.by Amy Wadsworth
