Gastonia blanks Denver

DENVER—Deven Harris and Matt Cavander combined to limit Denver to one hit over seven innings as Gastonia beat host Post 455 10-0 Sunday night at East Lincoln High.
Colby Burgin collected Denver’s only hit in the sixth inning.
Justin Frady hit a two-run homer in the first inning, and Tyler Leech added a solo shot in the fifth for Gastonia. Leech had three hits and two RBI for the game.
Gastonia led 6-0 after two innings of play, and reached a double-digit lead with a three-run sixth inning.
Third baseman Shane Brackett was a bright spot defensively for Denver.
Chris Hogue was the losing pitcher.
Denver’s next game is Tuesday against Newell at Lincolnton High School’s Jonathan Brookins Memorial Field.
