Post 100 rained out

Wet weather forced the postponement of Cherryville Post 100`s game Sunday night at Steele Creek.
The rained-out contest has been rescheduled for June 25 at Olympic High School in Charlotte, according to Post 100 assistant coach A.J. Henley.
In other scheduling announcements, Cherryville has rescheduled postponed games against Newell and Charlotte Post 262. Cherryville will host Newell in a doubleheader on June 21, starting at 6 p.m. Post 100 will play at Charlotte Post 262 on June 27.
A non-divisional game against Hickory, originally scheduled for June 21, will be played at a later date or cancelled all together, Henley said.
Idle since Thursday night, Post 100 (3-4 Area Four Eastern Division, 6-5 overall) returns to the diamond tonight against Denver Post 455. The divisional game will be played at Jonathan Brookins Memorial Field on the campus of Lincolnton High School.
Denver, coached by Bruce Bolick, is splitting its home games this season between Lincolnton and East Lincoln. Post 455 enters tonight`s contest with a 1-8 division record.
On Tuesday, Cherryville will be at home against division leader Pineville (8-1, 10-2). In the first meeting between the teams on June 3, Cherryville prevailed 7-6 in a 16-inning marathon.
In addition, Cherryville has added a doubleheader at home against Raleigh Broughton on June 30, starting time 6 p.m.
Cherryville will have head coach Bobby Reynolds back in the dugout for tonight`s game at Lincolnton. Reynolds, who missed Thursday`s 7-4 home win versus Huntersville, coached East Rutherford to a third straight N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A championship over the weekend in Raleigh.
The Cavaliers beat Southwest Edgecombe 6-4 Saturday in the third game of a best-of-three series at N.C. State. Reynolds` high school team finished the season 32-3.by Mike Powell
