The NE Lincoln Lacrosse team recently wrapped up their season going 5-14 on the year.
The season had itâ€™s highlights like a 22-1 win against Lake Norman, a 7-2 win over Freedom and a 12-3 win over Vance.
The team finished with a 1-11 mark in the conference. NE Lincoln averaged 7.37 goals per game, while their opponents averaged 8.32.
The catalyst on the team was once again Jay Thompson who enjoyed a stellar year.
Thompson led the team in goals (54), assists (18), groundballs (112) and faceoffs won (126).
His play earned him a spot to the â€˜Top 50â€™ Charlotte All-Star game to be held June 4th at Memorial Stadium.
Clay Parker finished second on the team in nearly all categories. He had 37 goals, 13 assists and 47 groundballs.
Brian Barker finished third in nearly all categories with 29 goals, five assists and 39 groundballs.
Josh Bowen, Luke Barker and Phillip Hamilton each scored four goals on the season.
Garrett Sumner had four assists on the year and 39 groundballs.
Duncan Carlton had 36 groundballs, Trevor Varrick had 29 and Colt Allen had 27 on the year.
Other goal scorers for NE Lincoln were Andrew Payseur (3), Greg Knopp (2) and Chad Snow (1). Joe Twiford had an assist.
Ben Turner the goalie faced 329 shots and came up with 174 saves on the season stopping over 50% of all shots he faced. His GGA was 8.32.NE Lincoln was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round by North Meck.by John Mark Brooks
