Smells of garlic and pasta may tingle your nose at Girogio’s Restaurant in Denver.
Shrimp Saganaki with a white wine sauce served over penne pasta or Chicken Scaloppini with artichokes and prosciutto are just a few of the options to try.
The Greek and Italian restaurant offers a wide variety of food for almost any liking.
Traditional greek dishes, pizza, pasta, specialty subs, soups and salads are a few of the items to choose from.
The restaurant is located on N.C. 16 in Natalie Commons Shopping Center. Owner Effie Dounis said the response from the community has been great.
“We offer a really different menu,†she said. “I think a lot of the locals appreciate it.â€
The restaurant is in the process of expanding its menu in order to offer more combinations and smaller lunch portions.
The menu will allow for more sandwiches, soups and salads.
A daily lunch special will also be featured, and every evening there will be an item that is not featured on the menu.
Currently, Giorgios’s offers a pizza, pasta and salad buffet at lunch or dinner.
Many of the salad dressings are homemade.
Dounis’ love for cooking made her want to bring Giorgios to Denver in order to offer another restaurant option.
“When speaking with my friends and neighbors everyone is always asking where to eat,†she said. “This side of the lake really needed something.â€
The restaurant offers a family-oriented, casual atmosphere.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
