NL Optimist sign ups
The North Lincoln Optimist Club will be having Cheerleading and Football sign ups Thursday, May 20th at the East Lincoln Community Recreational Center.
The North Lincoln Optimist Knights will be participating in the Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading League.
The Football program is open to all children between the ages of 7 – 13 years old with weight restrictions for each level.
The Cheerleading program is open to all children between the ages of 5-13 years old. There will be no tryouts for the cheerleaders, all children who register will be accepted. For more information, please call 704-748-2360.
American Legion baseball clinic
On Saturday, May 15th there will be a baseball clinic directed by Denver Post 455â€™s coach Bruce Bolick, area coaches and former professional baseball players.
The site of the clinic is Betty G. Ross Park from 2-4 p.m. Cost is $10. All proceeds will benefit the Lincoln County Soldiers.
This will be co-sponsored by Post 455 and Lincolnton Post 30. Students ages 9-14 are welcome.
The Shuford YMCA will have registration from April 27th-May 18th for adult summer hoops.
Cost per team is $200 with a $50 dollar non-refundable deposit. The league is open to the first 8-10 teams to register. If you have any questions contact Carlos at 828-464-6130.
EL Optimist football
The East Lincoln Optimists will hold sign-ups for football on the following dates: May 18th and 20th from 6-8pm and May 22nd from 9-noon.
Boys, ages 7 to 12 are eligible to participate. The cost is $65. Sign-ups will be held at the clubhouse on Optimist Club road.

LHS par 3 tourney
There will be five hole-in-one prizes and $25 closest to the pin on the other 13 holes.
Also, will feature many door prizes and tons of fun. There will also be a $5,000 putting contest for all players.
The date for the tournament is Friday, May 28th with a shotgun start at 4 p.m. The cost is $60 per player.

Lenior-Rhyne baseball camp
The Lenoir-Rhyne baseball camp will be held at two locations this year.
The scheduled camps are as follows: June 7-10, overall skills camp for ages 9-12, cost is $140 and will last from 9 a.m.- 4p.m., site is Lenoir-Rhyne.
June 7-10, half-day, ages 6-8, cost is $70, site is Lenoir-Rhyne.
June 14-17, overall skills camp, ages 6-15, cost is $75, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., site is North Wilkesboro.
June 21-24, pitchers and catchers camp, cost is $70, ages 9-17 (rising seniors welcomed), 9 a.m.- noon.
June 21-24, hitters camp, cost is $70, ages 9-17 (rising seniors welcomed), 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Campers can attend the pitchers and catchers camp along with the hitters camp scheduled to be held June 21-24 for $140.

The eighth annual Belmont Abbey College Crusader Basketball Camp will have two sessions this summer.
The camp dates are June 14th-18th;July 26th-30th. The coed camps are for youth ages 7-17 and will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on campus.

Womenâ€™s slow pitch, womenâ€™s fast pitch and co-ed softball teams interested in playing in summer leagues sponsored by Lincoln County Parks and Recreation Department need to call and register their team at 704-735-2671.
