Red fruit festival planned

Strawberry shortcake, chocolate-covered strawberries and strawberry salsa are just a few of the things that one can find at this year’s East Lincoln Strawberry Festival.
The East Lincoln High School Parent Teacher Association is busy planning the event.
The festival will be held Saturday, May 15 at the school’s football stadium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
So far the festival is planned to have 42 vendors, including 10 food vendors.
There will also be a lot of informational booths, a silent auction, a DJ and live entertainment.
This year’s bands are Dirt Creek Bluegrass band, Lost and Found, Something Jed, Ray Guns and Just for Tonite.
For the children there will be pony rides, games and face painting.
A hot air balloon will also be available for those who want to venture into the sky. It will cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.
The hot air balloon can only be used weather permitting. It will be available on a first come, first serve basis and most likely will be a morning activity.
Vicky Wilson, chairwoman of the festival, said they are still looking for vendors, especially arts and craft vendors, including pottery and jewelry.
