The Lincoln County Health Department offers the following services:
Clinical Services. Clinics provide various services to senior citizens, children and adults from maternity care to preventative immunizations and communicable disease treatment.
WIC (Women, Infants and Children supplemental food and nutrition program). The program provides nutritional education, food and formula for pregnant women and children up to the age of five.
Home Health. Services are provided for people of all ages and economic groups who reside in Lincoln County, are homebound due to illness, need skilled care and are in the need of a physician.
School Health. Four nurses provide care for all Lincoln County Schools. During the 2002-03 school year, 10,927 students were enrolled making a ratio of one nurse to 2,730 students. The national standard rate is one to 750.
Environmental Health. The department, housed at 302 S. Academy St., provides inspections of restaurants and lodging as well as checking septic systems and wells for individuals.
Migrant health. The program ensures the availability of essential health care services to migrant farm workers and their dependents.
Administrative Support. The Health Department is responsible for all record keeping including signing birth and death certificates.
