Pageant set for Aug. 9

Applications are being accepted for the 30th Annual Miss Lincoln County Apple Queen Scholarship Pageant.
The pageant will be held Aug. 9 at the James W. Warren Citizens Center.
Contestants must be a rising high school senior as of Fall 2008 and no older than 23. They must also be Lincoln County residents.
The competition will include an interview, on-stage question and an evening gown and sportswear category. There will not be a swimsuit competition this year.
The first 20 qualified applicants will be able to participate.
Applications are available at the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Cooperative Extension office and Tindall’s Professional Photography and from counselors at Lincoln County’s high schools. Applicants may also visit www.bpwlincolnton.org.
