Mary Bright Honeycutt, 75, of Conover, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000 after a brief illness.
Born July 15, 1925 in Morganton, she was the daughter of Fanny Hill Bright of Hickory and the late J. Albert Bright. She was a graduate of Greensboro College and worked for several years as a Realtor in Northern Virginia. An avid gardener, she belonged to numerous garden clubs throughout her life and was recognized as a Master Gardener by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Kemp C. Honeycutt Jr. of Conover; daughters, Gail Honeycutt of Santa Monica, Calif. and Anne Claar of Charlottesville, Va.; son, Kemp Honeycutt III of Charlottesville, Va.; son-in-law, Reggie Claar of Charlottesville, Va.; daughter-in-law, Deborah Honeycutt of Charlottesville, Va.; and grandchildren, Stephanie Campbell of Virginia Beach, Va. and June Rowsey and Charlie Patterson of Charlottesville, Va.; and brother, J. Albert Bright Jr. of Hampton, Va.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Conover.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Conover, Mary Bright Honeycutt Memorial Fund for Landscaping or Sipes Orchard Home.
