Missing Lincs ready to laugh at love

Love, it seems, is an ideal theme for improvisational comedy.

“There are just so many jokes that are available to you on the subject of romance,” said Cecil Smith, assistant director of The Missing Lincs, the Lincoln Theatre Guild’s improvisational group. “I mean, it’s just so awkward and funny.”

Lincolnton store employee charged with embezzlement

A Fred’s Store employee was taken into custody last week after she allegedly took money from her employer.

Tina Joyce McKinney, 45, of 104 W. Church St., in Cherryville, was arrested after allegedly taking more than $1,600 from the North Aspen Street business, Lincolnton Police Officer Billy Burgin said.
